Weekend Scrapbooking

I spent much of this past weekend working on top secret scrapbooked Christmas presents, it was so much fun and they are almost done.

When I was at the Go Scrapping crop on Saturday, I won a prize for my participation in their Bloghop last week. Look at what I won!

Thanks Karen, In A Pinch and Simply Scrapping!

Then I made a couple of make and takes. The first is a card from In A Pinch, isn't it pretty? Its too bad all the glitter doesn't show up though.

The second card was offered by Karen who was sponsored by SEI.Love all the layers on it.

And I completed this project I got from A Little Bit of Pixie Dust.

It is a covered notepad, pretty eh?

A White Happy Holidays

I spent last night scrapbooking and created this card:

I had been thinking about trying this design for awhile and I'm happy with how it turned out.

And it fits the following challenges:

Pile It On - Happy Holidays is a glitter rub-on
Cuttlebug Challenges - use glitter, the Stickles and bling is there!
Daring Cardmakers - use mostly white

12 Tags of Christmas - Day 6

I'm posting this tag as part of the Go Scrapping and Friends Christmas Crafting Bloghop

I made the bow based on instructions Karen linked to at Splitcoast stampers. The instructions were so easy to follow. I ended up creating this bow in about 15 minutes! I think I'll be adding them to all my Christmas presents this year!

A Little Bit of Pixie Dust

When I was at a crop in St.Marys a few weeks ago I picked up some cute card kits from a vendor there called A Little Bit of Pixie Dust.

I made up the cards this past weekend.

Aren't they nice?

12 Tags of Christmas - Day 5

I'm back with another tag! This one is not made from recycled Christmas cards like my others but is made using Papertrey Ink products.

This tag uses the Spellbinders One Label die both of which are stamped with the PTI Vintage Labels stamp. I then used the Christmas Tree from the Winter Swirls stamp set, cut it out and popped it up. The papers used are also PTI, Kraft and Rustic Cream, love this combination!

I finished it off with a bit of bling, PTI twine and ribbon. This tag is one of my favourites so far!

Little Red Wagon - Challenge 3

Dee's challenge at Little Red Wagon this week is to use buttons.

First I created this card using the branch punch by Martha Stewart then added some buttons.

I like it but didn't think there was enough emphasis on the buttons.

So then I thought, well why not create an entire wreath out of buttons, and so I did!

I used non-traditional Christmas colours which I think adds to the charm of this card. I hope you can play along at Little Red Wagon this week, we'd love to see what you create using buttons!

PS: Both these cards use what I call 'Dee" techniques, thanks for the inspiration Dee!

Holiday Treat Container

Paper Crafts is having a Holiday Treat Container challenge and I decided to enter this creation:

Its a Papertrey Ink stamp box that I've covered and filled with candies.

I'll let you know if I get a mention in their challenge.

Its Nov 22!

Good Sunday morning! What are you all up to today?

I'm hoping to get some Christmas decorations out and then maybe do a bit of crafting too!

I just had to share these pics of the herbs that are still fourishing outside my kitchen door and its Nov. 22nd!

The tender herbs are done but the parsely, sage, rosemary and chives are still going strong!

12 Days of Christmas Tags - Day 4

Happy Saturday morning!

Its been a busy few days around here.

I saw New Moon on Thursday evening with my daughters. The girls loved it and I don't think I've ever heard a theatre of teen girls squeal at the sight of a bare chest before, it was pretty funny!

Then yesterday I scrapped at Younique all day and worked on some Christmas presents that I won't be able to show you until after Christmas.

And last night I created cards that Karen designed at Go Scrapping. They are so gorgeous and I'll be sure to show them to you in a future post.

In between those projects I was able to create some more Christmas tags.

These three tags were all made from one card. I used a spellbinders scalloped circle for the base then added some Reminisce glitter circle stickers, ribbon and a button. The Santa already had the felt beard and pompom nose so I added pompom noses to the reindeer and the snowman too!

Stacked Presents

I'm so excited to show you this card! Its my first creation using a Bella stamp!

I had the ribbon and decided to colour the presents using colours inspired by the ribbon. I choose Copic colours R29,G05 and YG06. I then assembled it using CPS sketch #142 then added 3 flowers and 5 pearls as suggested this week at Pile It On!

I'm so going to use this stamp again soon and create a totally different look!

Distressed

Its Challenge 3 at Little Red Wagon! This week Karan challenged us to distress our creations. And as one of Karan's favourite inks is Vintage Photo, I used it to distress this card.

I created this card based on the CardPatterns sketch #41 . I used the spellbinders labels one template then edged them using my PTI Vintage Labels stamps. The green flourish stamps are also part of the Vintage Labels set. A fortunate mistake, I embossed the green polka dot matte and when I did the paper kind of ripped on some of the swirls. So I inked them up and it just adds to the distressed look! I finished with a bit of bling and a twine bow, I love the contrast of the distressed look against the bling.

12 days of Christmas Tags - Day 3

Here's my third tag of Christmas.

Its another created from one of last year's Christmas cards. I made the base out of the Spellbinders label one template then accented the gold in the ornaments with gold ink and ribbon. The gold sentiment was created with gold perfect pearls embossing powder.

Holiday Festivities

Steve hung some Christmas lights on our outside tree today and they look really nice and so cheery!

I thought of them when I was putting together this card for Challenge 39 at Copic Colour Challenges, where we were to use red, yellow and green.

I stamped these ornaments then coloured them in and cut them out. I added a bit of glitter with a stardust pen. I'm obviously still learning the colouring and shading thing with the Copics but I like the overall idea of this card.

12 Days of Christmas Tags - Day 2

Were you wondering when I would be back with my second tag of Christmas? Well here it is!

The stars were cut from one of last year's cards and were already glittered! I found some coordinating paper, added a few flowers, buttons, a border, ribbon and sentiment and voila! I'm not sure if you can tell but the middle star is popped up on foam for added dimension.

And here's a photo of other cards we received last year that I think have tag making possiblities.

I'll be back in a few days with tag 3.

Hope you're having a great Friday!
